Basildon Council investing £730,000 into economic growth

Basildon Council is set to inject £730,000 into a range of projects to help improve the borough and continue its investment into creating economic growth.

The money, part of this year’s Budget, is targeted at helping to deliver the council’s core promises announced for the next four years – town centres and high streets, improving the local environment, enhancing community safety and building strong communities.

Councillor Phil Turner, Leader of the council, said: “We’ve tried to strike a balance between prudent management of the services that we know matter to people locally, and creating the prosperous borough we want to build for the future.”
