>> The Thames Gateway South Essex (TGSE) Partnership is urging ministers to recognise the national importance of planned development projects in the area. The TGSE is seeking £196m from the Strategic Local Growth Fund (SLGF) over the coming months to support local authority investment of £400m. The bid was submitted (31st March) as part of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership application. The public sector commitment and investment could leverage in £6b of private sector funding across the TGSE area, which runs through six south Essex local authorities along the Thames to the eastern fringe of London. The TGSE bid has the support of local business leaders, three of whom are on the partnership board. The government is expected to announce the SLGF allocations during the summer.

>> Businesses, charities, clubs and community groups could benefit from the launch of a new Essex County Council Funding website. Run by the Council’s Funding and Investment team, the website provides a one stop shop for organisations looking to access funding from across the UK and Europe. Since 2013, the Funding and Investment team has successfully secured over £64million worth of funding for the Council, voluntary and community sector organisations, public sector bodies and businesses across Essex.
