Lloyds appoints top risk boss

Lloyd’s, the world’s specialist insurance and reinsurance market, today announced Dr Kirsten Mitchell-Wallace has been appointed as the new Head of Risk Aggregation.

Which? Names London Southend best airport in the capital

London Southend Airport has been rated by far the best London terminal, leaving all other airports in the region trailing, according to the latest Which? airport passenger survey. It’s the fourth time the capital’s newest airport has topped the poll in the London region. This year it has boasted a customer score of 84%

Superfast Essex on target to 100% coverage

More businesses stand to gain access to superfast broadband, with download speeds of 30Mbps or more. Superfast Essex Phase 4 is expected to be the last phase of work under the County Council’s broadband improvement programme, and is aiming to reach near to 100 per cent superfast broadband connectivity across the county by 2021.

Post-Brexit growth fund approved

An £8.4 billion fund to replace EU regional aid after Brexit must be entrusted to local government, council leaders set out in a new report this week. Since the EU referendum, the Local Government Association (LGA) has been lobbying for a government commitment to replace vital EU regeneration funding that will be lost when Britain leaves Europe. In its manifesto, the Government pledged to create a UK Shared Prosperity Fund to replace the money local areas currently receive from the European Union, which has been vital to economic growth.
